Applicants for a category B driving license can opt for the "accompanied driving" scheme, which provides additional training to that provided by the driving school.
After passing the theory test and receiving practical instruction (12 one-hour lessons) at the driving school, the applicant continues his or her practical training by driving in the company of a parent or close relative who, drawing on personal experience, assists the applicant and gives advice likely to develop his or her sense of responsibility.
The minimum age for application is 17.
Conditions for becoming an attendant :
- Be a relative, 1st or 2nd degree ally or close friend of the candidate
- Must have held a B licence for more than 6 years
- Must not have been convicted of any Highway Code offence, nor have lost
their driving licence in the last 5 years. - Have attended at least 2 practical lessons taught by the driving school's
instructor.
Required documents :
- Recent passport photo (front view), 45 x 35mm format
- Recent medical certificate (less than 3 months old)
- Recent extract from the criminal record if the applicant has reached the age of majority at the time of submitting
the application. - Recent police record from country of origin if residence in
Luxembourg is less than 5 years.
The application must be signed by the applicant, or by a parent or guardian.
Documents required to become an attendant :
For escorts holding a Luxembourg license :
- Proof of an insurance policy valid for the entire duration of the apprenticeship,
with your name and the name of the accompanying person. - Copy of both sides of a valid ID card for the accompanying person
- Copy of accompanying driver's license
For the companion holding a foreign license :
- Proof of an insurance policy valid for the entire duration of the apprenticeship,
with your name and the name of the accompanying person. - Copy of both sides of a valid ID card for the accompanying person
- Copy of accompanying driver's license
- Recent police record from country of origin if residence in
